Refund Policy

Last updated: 10 May 2026

Try before you buy

Respite includes a 14-day free trial with full feature access. We strongly recommend completing the trial before purchasing so you can confirm the App works the way you expect on your machine and with your workflow.

14-day refund window

If, despite the trial, the App does not work for you within 14 days of purchase, email us at support@getrespite.app with your license key and we will refund you in full. No reason required. Refunds are issued via the original payment method through Stripe and typically arrive within 5 to 10 business days. When the refund is processed, the associated license is automatically revoked and any active device activations are released.

Beyond 14 days

After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion. We try to be reasonable, especially when the App turns out to be a poor fit despite genuine effort. Where we approve a discretionary refund, it may be pro-rated against time elapsed since purchase or against your remaining update entitlement.

Renewal payments

Optional update-window renewals are refundable in full within 14 days of payment, provided you have not already downloaded an updated version of the App that became available under that renewed entitlement. Once a covered update has been delivered, the renewal payment is non-refundable.

When refunds will not be issued

We reserve the right to decline a refund where: (a) a chargeback has been initiated without first contacting us, (b) we reasonably suspect license-key sharing or other abuse of the licensing system, (c) the same person or household has already received a refund and is requesting another, or (d) the request is made outside the windows above and there is no reasonable basis for discretion. None of the above limits your rights under the ACL.

Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (or any equivalent consumer-protection law that applies to you), including your rights to a refund, repair, or replacement for a major failure of a service. If goods or services we supply do not meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy as required by law.

EU and UK consumers. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The right of withdrawal does not apply once supply of digital content has begun with your prior express consent (and acknowledgment that the right will be lost), which for downloadable software occurs when you download the App or activate the license key. Where the statutory right still applies, our discretionary 14-day window is in addition to it and does not limit it.

How to request

Email support@getrespite.app from the address you used to purchase, include your license key, and tell us what went wrong (or just "not for me" within the 14-day window). We aim to respond within two business days.
